For this custom oak kitchen, all of the beautiful wood was originally used as pews at a local church that was being decommissioned.
A couple that attended the church didn't want to see the wood go to waste and decided to see if they could somehow reuse it to build a new kitchen at their family cottage.
That’s where Whippletree came in.
It takes a lot of skill and a special woodworker to build a kitchen with reused material. Kurtis and Whippletree were up for the challenge and the only ones who said that they were able to reuse the lumber from the church pews and turn it into this dream kitchen at the cottage.
Personal stories with deep meaning attached are what make our projects different. Without this couple's imagination, all those memories and special moments could have been lost so easily. Now, those church pews will always be a part of this family's story.
